Where it may help

Boats and marine equipment

Covers, trim and non-structural mounts. Sunlight, salt and moisture need to be considered.

Cars and motorcycles

Discontinued trim, covers and auxiliary components. Braking, steering and other safety-critical systems need a separate assessment.

Home and workshop

Knobs, guides, housings and workshop aids. Dimensions, assembly and working conditions guide the design.

Before and after: real documentation to follow

Common questions

Can you assess a discontinued part?

Yes. Send photos, approximate dimensions and an explanation of its function. We first check whether there is enough information and whether the use is suitable.

Do you need the original?

It usually helps, even if broken. Sometimes we need mating components or extra measurements. We will clarify this after reviewing the photos.

Will a printed part be as strong as the original?

That cannot be assumed. Material, process and layer direction affect performance. We need to assess the use and the checks it requires.

How much will it cost and how long will it take?

That depends on modelling, material and testing. After assessment we propose a quote and an estimated lead time.

Where extra checks are needed

Matching a shape does not guarantee matching performance. Safety-critical parts need a separate assessment and may be outside our scope. Manufacturing starts only after technical review.
